Though this book is classified as fiction there are many things and facts about it that are true.

1. There is a group of older people at Ocean Hills Village who collect items and send packages overseas.

2. There is a Jack Iskin who went door to door and collected $25,000 and gave it to the Navy/Marine Relief Society at Camp Pendleton.

3. There is a grandpa and grandma crying in the kitchen waiting for their sons or daughters to come home.

4. There is a Bob Hope Theater where a Star Football Player spoke and sent words of encouragement to the troops and his name is Anthony Davis.

5. There are thousands of little boys waiting and wanting their dad to come home safe and sound

6. There is a mom and sister who cry and pray every night for their husband and dad to come home.

7. There is a little boy named "Tommy" who said "let's make a surfboard for Scooter."

8. There is an Uncle Andre who went to the Army navy Academy in Carlsbad and the boys get to surf everyday and his dad was an NFL quarterback.

9. There was a Marine at Camp Pendleton with only "one eye"

10. There is a George Clapper whose job it was to dive beneath the ocean and remove "dog tags" from dead soldiers beneath the sea.

11. There are some military men and women who won't come home in "one piece"

12. There are lots of military men and women who won't come home at all
